Wrapping up 2009

What?!? It's New Year's Eve 2009 already???

This is a little glimpse at some of my Christmas wrapping this year.

This morning I happened upon a blog I enjoy that I remember reading pretty regularly in the past, and even very recently, but somehow completely forgot about until just now. Boo rats boo to that! I hate it when that happens.

Anyway. I very much enjoy her posts. She is very open and honest and funny. She has a great set of posts that she has been doing about Things Successful Bloggers Do that she does not do that make me laugh because of how familiar their sentiments feel.

She also makes cookies (fabulous cookies!!!) and other lovely things on her other blog like I make cupcakes - you know, as if doing so were seemingly just as easy as pouring yourself a glass of juice. She has referred to this as beating a dead horse. I know that I often show pictures of cupcakes I've made and so on and so forth, and I do tend to go on and on about Bake it Pretty and whatnot from time to time... And I will unapologetically continue to do so, thank you very much. Hopefully Amanda (of I am Baker/I am Mommy) will continue to pump out her awesome cookies, too.

Cupcakes I made for a my husband to take to work this year.

Where was I going with this? I'm sorry, but I am still stuck on how today is the last day of the year 2009... How is it that time can be so sneaky and mysterious and wonderful all at the same...time?

Oh, yes! Speaking of Amanda's fabulous cookies, you have got to check these out. They are so simple, yet so perfect for today. I love them! If I weren't spending the day packing for a road trip and then heading out on said road trip, I would have totally made these. No worries, though. New Year's Eve 2010 will surely be here before I know it!

Here they are! Enjoy!

They are count down cookies. You know... 10, 9, 8, 7... Just before the clock strikes midnight.

Here they are up close and personal in the Amy Atlas style perfection. Amanda even had a segment on Fox News for these cookies and other neat New Year's celebration ideas. Here is her post about it. Lots of cute 2010 ideas :o)

Aren't they sweet all wrapped up for giving? Now, I am not personally a fan of black icing, even though it's probably just as safe/not safe as any other dyed color. There is something weird to me about eating black icing, though. However, Amanda did do some in white, too. To each his own. The black sure does look pretty with the gold though, doesn't it?

I hope that this year was a wonderful one for you, but that the year 2010 will be even better. May God bless you, and may you be a blessing!

Cheers!
Susan

P.S. Trust me on this. If you just so happen to win this giveaway, your year will most certainly start off right. :O)

Happy New Year Susan!
The baker in me is more than okay with you posting/talking about cupcakes all day every day!
As for your gift wrapping...gorgeous!! I love it when someone takes the time to put thought into the gift wrapping instead of just slapping some Christmas paper on the gift. The receiver of that gift is quite lucky!

Wow Susan!! Thank you so much for this honest and funny and totally undeserving post... you are SOOOO talented, I should be blogging about all of YOUR amazing cupcakes!!! The ones pictured are beautiful BTW!

Thanks again for giving my blogs a shout out and sending some blogging love through the blogging community... I am a bug fan of that and it REALLY touched me when I see others supporting each other. To me it symbolizes character and grace. Two words I would readily use to describe you and your blog!

Blessings and thanks again!
Amanda
